Other Volunteering Opportunities

Help us change the lives of Western Australians living with low vision, disability or illness. Whatever time you can spare, we have a volunteering role for you!

Guide Dogs WA (and our parent group, EverAbility Group Limited), have a dedicated team of more that 200 volunteers of all ages, from all walks of life, volunteering in a wide range of exciting activities. Our volunteers are vital to the quality and success of our services.

By joining our team of volunteers, you can help people live the life they choose with confidence. Volunteering also gives you a sense of purpose, the opportunity to learn new skills, build new relationships and enhance your job prospects.

Whether you can volunteer a few days each week, or once per year, your time and support make a world of difference. Thank you for supporting the work of Guide Dogs WA.

What do Guide Dogs WA volunteers do?

We have a variety of essential volunteering roles that support our dog training programs:
1. Puppy Raisers – our volunteer Puppy Raisers provide a nurturing first home for our puppies. Puppy Raisers support our playful pups to one day become a highly skilled Guide or Assistance Dog.
2. Dog Boarders – offer a loving home to a young adult dog in training. Drop your dog in to “school” each day and take them home later to relax as part of the family after a day of learning.
3. Collection Dogs – you can help raise funds for Guide Dog WA by volunteering in the Collection Dog Program. Help collect, count or maintain the Collections Dogs and know that your efforts are helping to support the training programs.
4. Event Volunteers – help out on one of our events including the Street Appeal and Central Park Plunge or at one of our community stalls.

Are there any other positions available?

We have volunteer positions across many areas of the organisation, including fundraising, sport and recreation leisure, administration and finance, accounting, library services, alternative format production and transportation.
