Will Writing Offers
Only about 50% of Australians have a current Will, which means that many families will be left with the difficult task of trying to sort out their loved ones’ estate whilst also grieving for their loss.
It’s also very important to update your Will whenever there are any significant changes in your circumstances.
People often put off writing or updating their Will because they feel that it’s too complicated, time-consuming or expensive to do. However, nowadays there are several different ways to write your Will including:
- Meeting with a solicitor or the Public Trustee
- Using a DIY paper Will kit – normally available at Post Offices or in some newsagents
- Using an online Will-writing platform
If your Will is complex or you have any questions or concerns then it’s best to get professional legal advice from a solicitor or the Public Trustee.
If your Will is quite simple and you’re comfortable working online then you could consider using an online Will-writing platform. These are a quick and fairly cheap way of writing or updating your Will.
Guide Dogs WA has partnered with online Will-writing platforms Willed (link opens in a new window) and Safewill (link opens in a new window) to offer special discounts off their normal price to Guide Dogs WA supporters. You only pay when you submit your Will for review by their Wills and Estate Expert.
Please note that you don’t have to leave a gift in your Will to Guide Dogs WA to take up these special offers, the aim is to raise awareness of the option to leave a gift to help train more Guide and Assistance Dogs into the future if you would like to do so.
Guide Dogs WA does also run Will-writing events in partnership with local solicitors to encourage people to write or update their Will at a discounted rate. When a Will-writing event is organised details will be available here.
